How do woven wood blinds differ from wood blinds?
When a company says that a window treatment is woven wood, it means that real wood is woven together with other material to give it a real wood look. You will often find this in bamboo and matchstick shades.
Real wood blinds are made entirely of wood, except for the ladders and lifting mechanism. Quality blinds will be made from real basswood.
How do you install blinds?
First, you need to correctly measure the window. This is the most important part of installing blinds, as the wrong size will mean they do not cover the window properly.

How do you clean blinds/mini blinds?

- Wooden Blinds - Real wood absorbs water. Therefore, you need to be careful when cleaning. A damp cloth is fine but too much water can cause warping, streaking and even promote mold growth. Once or twice a year, you can use wood polish to bring out the natural beauty and luster of the natural wood.
Is Faux Wood better than Real Wood Blinds?
Better is a relative term. Each has its own benefits and weakness. The best way to answer is to describe them both and let you decide which matches your needs.
- Real Wood - Real wood blinds are lighter than faux wood. This means they work better for large bay windows and vertical blinds. They will require fewer ladders making them look more natural. In addition, they are easier to open and close.
- Faux Wood - Faux wood blinds hold up well to water and humidity. This makes them ideal for bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms. They will not bend, crack or warp in these areas like real wood.
