What Are Cellular Shades
If it has been a while since you last bought shades, then you might be surprised to find new types available. One of these new types is cellular shades or honeycomb shades. This new invention is actually quite remarkable and can save you money.
What is a Cellular Shade?
The term cellular and honeycomb comes from the way the blinds are made. The fabric forms hexagonal compartments to trap air. The hexagonal shape is why they are oftentimes called honeycomb shades.

Do they look nice?

How to install Blackout Shades to windows with curtains so I can have both?
My home theatre is basically in the living room. There are lots of windows. The windows already have white curtains.
I want to put in some Blackout Shades, so I can roll them down only when I want to watch movies. I want to have both the shades and the curtains so I can have the curtains there and the shades down only for movies.
I like the curtains so I can still have light in the living room but people can't see into my house. And I want to be able to roll down blackout shades for when we are watching a movie.
Is that possible? How do I do it? I'm planning on black coloured blackout shades.
The house is not mines, so I can't install shade holders on to the wall. I need a way to attach the shades to the curtain holder thats already there.

I bought this product for my own apartment. They come in a varity of colors and can be cut to the exact width you need from 15" to 73ΒΌ" wide. The holes required to hang them are as small as a picture from nail and don't do damage. They're also cheap enough to just leave them in the home when you move. Most landlords wont mind improvements made if it's not on their dollar. 3M also makes special products to hand blinds and they are easy to install, cheap, and wont mark the walls or window casements. This is a decent alternative if your really worried about small nail holes.
