Maruti Ritz
India's most awaited car is all set to be launched on 15th May, most probably. Maruti Ritz, which will be available in petrol and diesel variants, will be India's first BS-IV compliant car," the company said in a statement, referring to the Bharat Stage IV emission norms. The car is positioned in the premium A2 market segment, which includes its compact offerings such as Alto, WagonR, Swift, Zen and the newly-launched A-Star. Ritz is the eighth new model within 48 months following the launch of Swift, Zen Estilo, SX4, Swift Diesel, Grand Vitara, Swift Dzire and A-star," the company said. Ritz will be available with two different engine options: a brand new K-series of 1.2 litre, four-cylinder, 85PS petrol engine and a 1.3 litre, 16 valve, 75 PS diesel engine.
Hyundai has launched their i10 model in the Indian market. Now, it's the turn of market leaders Maruti Suzuki to respond with a brand new vehicle for the Indian market. After the recently launched A-Star, Maruti may replace its aging Wagon R with Ritz or may launch it as new model. Maruti Suzuki India has decided to rename the Splash as Ritz for India. The name change is because of registration problem as Splash has been already registered by some other manufacturer.
It will be 4th new model for the Maruti Suzuki after the launch of Swift, Grand Vitara and SX4. Based on an all-new platform, the production version has some hints of the Swift and SX4, interspersed with a C-pillar design that harks back to the concept. At the Paris Motor Show in late September 2006, Suzuki presented `Project Splash`, a concept car showcasing a taste of the styling of the future production-version Splash (Ritz). The extremely positive response of the audience confirmed to Akira Kamio and his team that they had taken the right path for Ritz.
Unlike traditional hatchbacks, the rear end has allowed for a thicker C-pillar and made provision for a smaller quarter glass that is not very different from the Swift. With an overall width of 1.68 metres, the Ritz is 8cm wider than the Wagon R+. Smartly shaped headlights give it a friendly appearance, and they combine with a trapezoidal grille to form a “face” that reflects the new Suzuki family identity.
The Suzuki brand emblem proudly takes its place in the centre of the grille, and the entire front end of the car incorporates energy-absorbing structures for pedestrian protection. The Ritz is streamlined rather than boxy, but it is uncompromised in terms of interior roominess, functionality, and configurability. Its profile displays a gently rising nose, A-pillars that blend into the roof and a roofline that gently slopes toward the back, culminating in an almost vertical tailgate. Short overhangs create a compact and neat appearance.
The tailgate has an inward obtuse angle to it, something seen more often on French hatchbacks. On the inside, the Ritz continues the raid on Suzuki's parts bin with the steering wheel, gear knob, door handles, indicator switches, etc first seen on the Swift/SX4. Though, that is where the raid ends.

Can I do my dream wedding on a this budget in NYC?
before I ask: don't tell me about a down payment on a house b/c that's not what I'm asking and of course I know the marriage itself is more important than a one time ceremony. With that said I want to create my dream wedding!
I have always wanted my dream wedding in NYC, i'm going to work hard to make it happen. I live in NJ. I want a budget of $50.000-$65.000. I keep hearing this is unreaonable (not enough of a budget in NYC or too over priced, etc) - but is this a stretch and I create just about my dream wedding or better on this budget in NYC? I wanted a winter wedding in one of their top hotels such as Ritz Carlton, four seasons, etc. A wedding dress around $4,500....
** PS - as far as food we did want to serve appetizers, an entree, etc. a nice menu.
JM - that is the dress I like - I didn't just PICK ANY PRICE....geez.
You can have a wedding for that amount of money depending on two things- what you get/want and how many people you are planning to attend.
If you want to do it soley by cost, the earlier in the day you have the wedding, the cheaper the food will be for sure. Brunch or breakfast is by far the cheapest way to go. You said you want appetizers however, you really have to be careful because the price some usually quoted is assuming that each person may only eat 3 or 4 appetizers, which for some is a stretch.
I did a bit of googling there in NYC for hotels, and came across the Hudson hotel, which looked spectacular. Prices werent all that bad, by a New York standard. You can check there. I would also like to suggest unusual places such as a zoo or an aquarium.
As far as decorations go- the christmas season prior to the winter that you want to get married in I would say go supply shopping the day (and week) following both Thanksgiving and Christmas to get everything at a discounted price.
Limit your favors to something like an ornament, which you can pick up in bulk either online or at your local crafts store. I know we have a place here in Minnesota called Crafts Direct and they carry some you can decorate and fill yourself. They are very nice, and only about $5 for a bunch of 12.
Order things online. You can most of the time get great deals, and for way cheaper than you can find in NYC.
As far as dresses go, look online for your favorite designer. Sometimes they have sales strictly online. You can also try on dresses at a local boutique and find it online to order in the exact size you want. If you are trying to stick in a budget, I would try and lower the amount you want to spend on it. A beautiful dress doesnt have to cost an arm and a leg for it to be great. You will only wear it once, so no need to go so high- i would say cut that price in half and try to stay under it. Even Vera Wang has trunk sales.
The Grand Prospect hall in Brooklyn is also another place you can look, or a local City hall (in Mpls you can rent out the floor after hours for weddings, and it really isnt too bad in price)
There are so many ways to save money on your wedding, getting things you want.
Good luck and congrats!
