i am setting up stalls at my new house for my 2 horses. the stalls are outdoor pens(made from panels). they are 20x20 and share the middle 2 panels. they have a shade structure with 3 solid sides that covers the back side of both stalls and is 10 feet deep. the area i live in can get pretty windy at times. i live in the desert so except for a few good storms in the winter we don't get much rain at all. i want to know a good bedding to use in the stalls for the horses. it needs to be soft (one of my horses lays down to sleep and will get sores on his legs if the bedding is not soft/deep enough)but not blow away. any ideas?
i've tried shavings in the past but they blow away to easily. my favorite bedding i've used so far is wood grindings but i can't seem to find a place to buy them in my area
