Why is my screen so small after reformatting windows XP?
I reformatted a Dell Inspiron 1100 with the original OS installation discs that came with the computer (Windows XP). But the desktop only takes up a small part of the whole screen with black all the way around. I am unable to adjust the screen resolution in the control panel, it seems to be stuck on the lowest setting. I inserted all the Dell discs that came with the computer like device drivers, etc. What is the problem and how do i fix it?
Typically, this means you've lost the video drivers. Hit the Dell website and look for the 1100 or hit the video board manufacturer's web site and look for it, then download the drivers.
Hope that helps.
